Construction Data
The following information is intended to aid builders of proposed projects. The data is derived from the building codes, but is not all inclusive. For more detailed information the following codes should be consulted:
"New construction shall meet or exceed the minimum requirements of: The California Building Codes' series - 2007 editions: The series include the Building, Plumbing, Mechanical, Electrical, Fire, and Energy Commission Codes. In cases where the Codes may conflict with the provisions in these plans or specifications, the more restrictive provisions shall govern."
I. PERMITS REQUIRED
- Construction
- Buildings
- Additions, alterations, and patios.
- Accessory buildings with projected roof area over 100 sq ft.
- Fences or block walls more than 3 ft. In height, and retaining
walls over 2 ft. in height (unless supporting a surcharge).
- Platform, walks, and driveways.
- Plumbing - includes addition or replacement of fixtures, of water heater, and sewer lines.
- Electrical - includes adding or replacing outlets, circuits, or lighting fixtures.
- Mechanical (heating and air conditioning) - includes adding or replacing heating or cooling equipment such as wall furnaces, central air conditioners, evaporative coolers, etc.
II. INSPECTIONS REQUIRED
- Footings
- Ground plumbing
- Floor slab (concrete slab)
- Roof sheathing and shear nailing
- Fireplaces (masonry)
- Framing
- Mechanical ducts
- Rough electric
- Top out plumbing
- Insulation
- Drywall nailing (interior/exterior lath)
- Sewer line and or septic tank/pit
- Gas test
- Special inspection as required
- Final
