The Redlands Police Department’s Code Enforcement Division is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for the citizens of Redlands by enforcing local Building, Zoning and Public Nuisance Ordinances. Code Enforcement is responsible for enforcing codes which address public health and safety issues, including regulations related to rubbish, garbage, specific nuisances, removal of vegetation, zoning, housing, dangerous buildings, and inoperable and unlicensed vehicles on private property. Enforcement actions are taken both proactively and in response to requests for action received from citizens.
Senior Code Enforcement Officer Jim Grant is assigned to the North Community Policing Station located at 1568 N. Orange Street. He is responsible for complaints and violations reported in the areas north of Interstate 10.
Code Enforcement Officer Jim Conrod, assigned to the Downtown Community Policing Station located at 406 N. Orange Street, is responsible for complaints and violations reported in the areas south of Interstate 10.
During the year 2005 the code enforcement team worked closely with all city departments to reduce blight in our communities, investigating more than 800 new complaints and performing more than 1,500 site inspections. The code enforcement team also joined with the County Health Department to provide citizen education and assistance in the fight against the onset of West Nile Virus.
