Pair of armed robbers hold up Redlands bank branch



Police are looking for two armed men who held up a Redlands bank branch on Friday morning.

The men entered the Downey Savings at 640 Orange St. at about 9 a.m. Friday, Feb. 15. The robbers, both of them armed with handguns, forced employees and customers onto the floor. One of the men then took two employees into the vault and forced them to open the safe.

The robbers took an undisclosed amount of cash then left the bank. They were seen getting into a silver 4-door foreign compact car and heading east toward Interstate 10.

No one was injured during the robbery.

The robbers are described as black men in their 20s, between 5 feet, 10 inches and 6 feet tall, weighing 170 to 180 pounds. They were wearing hooded sweatshirts, baggy jeans, gloves and had bandanas covering their faces.
