Redlands Police arrested a 23-year-old Redlands man for forgery, burglary and theft after several victims reported buying fraudulent tickets for a Father’s Day game between the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.
At least five people reported they bought four to five tickets apiece to the June 21 game between the Angels and the Dodgers from Jesse Julian Delgado, paying prices ranging from $80 to $140. In most cases, the victims arrived at Angel Stadium only to discover the tickets were fraudulent.
Each of the victims reported they found Delgado through an advertisement on the online service craigslist. Delgado arranged to meet the victims at various locations in Redlands where he sold them the fraudulent tickets.
Several victims identified Delgado as the man who sold them the fraudulent tickets. Investigators served a search warrant on Delgado’s home in the 1400 block of Hunter Drive and recovered several tickets matching those sold to the victims. In addition, police seized computers, cell phones, currency and drugs found in Delgado’s residence.
Police believe there may be as many as 30 victims who bought tickets from Delgado and are asking anyone who may have been a victim or may have additional information to contact Officer Dominick Povero at (909) 798-7681.
